Wondering now how she is going to bring this up with Arua. I know Arua will forgive her, I'm just wondering how Arua is going to deal with the fact someone thought she was Veja's girlfriend. Or, that somebody thinks Veja is "cute". THAT'S going to be a fun strip for you to draw.
And don't think of this as a short update, you gave us a great Christmas picture! That takes time and effort as well, and thank you for the lovely gift!
And...Arua and Veja are still on this quest thing. They've had a couple of detours, but still on the main thing. Now, you established that The Jereboam is a magical weapon...but some type of containment mechanism has to hold that magic. If it becomes necessary, Arua can bring The Light to bear against the Magic...already saw that with Brone. But, the mechanical part...that's where they could benefit from a consultant that was comfortably conversant with cogs. I'm not being coy with where I'm going here. I think you may have, however unintentionally, created a ringer. A supporting character that could be so good they interject their own energy.
You talked about exploring and developing Arua and Cer'veja's personalities and the relationship together. But I wonder if you've consciously considered developing *around* them. Having fun with a particular twist of WoW is a good experiment. Turning the experiment into it's own experiment, that would be something.
But due to poor world building on my part it's never really shown through.
I don't think the guys that started Blizzard were PHDs. I know Greg Street was, but he came along later as Lead Designer, he didn't build the world.
Lacking, here's how you build a world. You create a character. The character exists in a world. You fill in the blanks from there. It's not rocket science unless you condemn yourself to making it rocket science. You change/alter/enlarge the world by looking around in your head, seeing what's there and going: "Well that's nice. What if? You know what might be nice? I think I'll...." In other words, all the stuff you've been doing all along. In original Gratz you were borrowing one and doing your own populating. Then you created The Kingdom and stepped into your own world. That's the one you're working on now.
You have the rudimentary details worked out I'm sure. Expanding it may be a little intimidating. Notes are good, some good tools are better. That's what I just tapped into FireFox "world building" +tools. Didn't find that many, but I found wisdom. Here's an article just full of ideas and links to aid the world building writer.

Linked in there was a website with little 15-minute podcasts about writing.

And there's more. You can do this.
Merry Christmas.
