I don't believe Nixie was insane. I believe she was quite sane, she just succumbed to the lure of power. Just like WorgLock *is hit on the back of the head with a staff* Well, warlocks are.
Someone is going to be very ticked about this. They won't shed any tears over Nixie, but they will be very angry over the Archon retaining life. They may even congratulate her on "sweeping the trash from their steps" but they'll be pissed.
I've been thinking a lot about Arua in panel 5. There was something about her in that shot (and not just how pretty she is) that was stuck in my brain, but I didn't know what it was. A couple of days ago I finally realized what I was seeing.
I look back, at this Arua:
http://gratz.thecomicseries.com/comics/506
Dejected, beaten, unsure, broken in spirit. Feeling as though her life is over, her dreams shattered, unable to deal with it all. A devastated little girl, with no idea what to do.
Than I look back at this Arua in that last panel.
Confident, assured, powerful, indomitable, prepared to take on the worst the world can throw against her. She knows what needs to be done and she has the will and the strength to do it. In her dream to serve The Light she has become The Light for those in need.
I said at the end of Solace that I believed that Arua had a lot of potential in her to be a great champion for justice. You have developed that and more. You have fleshed out her personality, and expanded on the dynamics between her and Veja. You've accomplished so much of what I was hoping to see and I am eager for more.
This has become my favorite read; the one that I look forward to every Monday to start the week.
I have wondered about if I was doing right by the characters in their development I guess I know now.
Thanks for all your comments they've been a big help and inspiration.
